Nordic Table Workshop: Norwegian Baked Goods

Wednesday, February 11, 6-8:30pm

We know the Swedish classics, but what about those Norwegian baked goods? Join Solveig Tofte for a cozy evening of baking demonstrations and heirloom stories about four Norwegian classics. The menu includes fyrstekake (almond tart), harringkake (a chewy flatbread from her grandmother's recipe), Kringla (boiled sweet pretzels from her great-great grandmother). and Verdens Beste Kake (learned from the ladies who taught her how to weave in Orsta, Norway). Coffee and samples of each treat are included. This demonstration class is held in ASI's Paulson Hall.

Instructor: Solveig Tofte owns the award-winning Sun Street Breads in Minneapolis. She has been baking for over 15 years and has a keen interest in resurrecting the foods of her family's immigrant history. She teaches baking classes all over the country.

Cost: $50 ASI members/$60 general public.

Space is limited. Registration required by February 4.
